The countdown for the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas-2012 has begun as the Pink City gears up to host the mega NRI conclave between January 7 and 9. The conclave, a mega gathering of Indians overseas would be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on January 8 with President Pratibha Patil's valedictory address on January 9.

The external affairs ministry (MEA) has finally agreed to eliminate the surrender certificate from those who have became naturalized citizens more than 10 years ago and also an OCI application need not be accompanied by an original US passport.
