Washington: A Sikh American man was stabbed to death in his taxi in the US by a 19-year-old who was upset over not getting admission into his choice of university. The incident happened this week in Bonner County in Idaho. The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Gagandeep Singh, a final year student of software engineering. He hailed from Jalandhar in Punjab.

Washington: A million-dollar Sikh awareness campaign to inform Americans about Sikhism has increased the positive perception about their religion, according to a recent survey.The month-long “We are Sikhs” ad campaign was launched by the non-profit organisation National Sikh Campaign on April 14 on the occasion of Vaisakhi.

London: A 47-year-old Sikh man and his son were held at gunpoint and handcuffed by the UK police in southern England after someone complained about hearing a gunshot - which was actually his car’s tyre blowing. Sukhi Rayat parked his car in his yard in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Shortly after a dozen armed policemen with dogs ran into his garden, then pushed him against a wall and put him in handcuffs.
