At the Annual General Meeting of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce held Wednesday, June 29, in Toronto, Satish Thakkar was elected the 24th president of the Chamber. He has been associated with the Chamber for the last four years, initially as a director and then as the vice president.

The countdown for the 10th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas-2012 has begun as the Pink City gears up to host the mega NRI conclave between January 7 and 9. The external affairs ministry (MEA) has finally agreed to eliminate the surrender certificate from those who have became naturalized citizens more than 10 years ago and also an OCI application need not be accompanied by an original US passport.
