While Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal has announced to produce 1500 MW power from flow of water in canals by using special turbines, a hydro power generation plant built by an NRI at an investment of around Rs 10 crore at Terkiana at the head of Kali Bein is lying shut down for the last one-a-half-month. After 81 years of Gandhiji's Dandi March, another Dandi yatra will be initiated in the city on the same date - March 12. Only this time, the yatra will be held for fighting corruption. The idea was initially conceived by two NRIs Rajkumar Singh and Shreedhar Alturi, who wanted to promote Gandhiji's ideologies to fight corruption.
