Immigration operation heads of Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia today appealed to prospective immigrants from Punjab not to use unauthorised means like taking help of unscrupulous travel agents to visit their countries. Their appeal came in the wake of reports that several Punjab-based prospective visitors and immigrants.

UK city to honour Punjab-origin entrepreneur

House panel wants NRI marriage registration

The Ministry of Overseas Affairs and the National Commission for Women (NCW) aren’t doing enough to help women deserted by NRI husbands, a parliamentary standing committee has found. In its draft report on NRI marriages, the standing committee on external affairs has come down heavily on the ministry and the NCW for shoddy and insufficient work to help out these women.
