Patiala : The Punjab Police today claimed that Delhi-based international drug racket kingpin Dev Behl, who was recently arrested, was an associate of Dawood Ibrahim and his brother Anees in gold smuggling from 1983 to 1988.

Panaji : The gruelling interrogation of Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal has begun after he was remanded by a Goa court to six days in police custody over charges of rape. Tejpal’s arrest late on Saturday and his remand Sunday morning followed two weeks of drama after the woman colleague accused the veteran journalist of sexually molesting her in a Goa resort twice in November.

Chandigarh : In what is a dubious distinction, Punjab has attained the number one position in the incidence of HIV among injecting drug users (IDUs) in the country, a recent report by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) has revealed.
