Phul (Bathinda) : Buoyed by its successful operation against a Karnal-based (Haryana) drug manufacturer, the Punjab Police now plans to take the battle right to the source of opium and poppy husk in other parts of the country, particularly Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Chandigarh : The police has arrested a Delhi-based supplier who is said to have anchored a major supply chain to medicine shops storing and selling banned medicines. More arrests related to the case are likely to follow in the region. The police has been following leads it got after the seizure of synthetic drug worth Rs 100 crore by the Patiala police from Karnal last week.

Chandigarh : The police is probing the role of some officials in the Health Department in four major drug seizures in the recent past. The officials had allegedly facilitated the transportation of banned drugs. The role of the health officials has been traced right from the beginning of the supply chain in Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.
